Turn-by-Turn Navigation

The OnStar system in your GM vehicle makes it simple to get where you need to be by simply pushing your blue OnStar button and asking an Advisor for directions. Just push the blue OnStar button and an Advisor can direct you to more than 14 million points of interest with Turn-by-Turn Navigation, including nearby businesses, landmarks — even locations that don’t have an address.

Maybe you thought you knew your way around a little better than you actually did. Perhaps you’ve misplaced the directions and can’t access your mobile device. OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation provides voice-guided driving directions to you in your vehicle over your speakers and uses Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to route you to your destination.

To get directions, simply push the blue OnStar button and tell the Advisor where you want to go. Your Advisor will send detailed directions to the vehicle. These automated voice-guided directions take you to your destination with “turn tones,” providing street names and distances to each turn along the way. The system even alerts you if you miss a turn and gives a revised route to the destination. You can also search destinations from your vehicle’s mobile app and send destinations to your navigation system. 

How to Load a Destination?

There are several ways to load a destination to your vehicle:

• Push the blue OnStar button and tell the Advisor where you want to go
• Use the mobile app to send a destination to your vehicle
• Use the “Send a Destination” box that appears at the top of page when logged in to your Owner Center account
• Enter a destination directly in your MyLink Navigation System (if equipped) by pressing theNav icon on your touchscreen or Dest on your radio faceplate

Ho Do I Know Which Navigation Service I have?

If your vehicle includes the MyLink Navigation System, you will be able to see a Navigation icon on your vehicle touchscreen. If your paid OnStar or Connected Services plan includes Turn-by-Turn Navigation, you can access it by pressing your blue OnStar button or tapping the OnStar icon on your vehicle touchscreen.

How do I access a saved destination in my MyLink Navigation System?

To access a saved destination, simply press the Destinations icon on your vehicle’s infotainment system or the Dest button on your radio faceplate (if equipped). Next press the Previous Destinations icon on your touchscreen menu. The most recent destination you’ve entered will be at the top of your list.
