Not all wireless carriers offer 4G LTE coverage. When you are in areas where the carrier’s coverage offers 3G or less, you may experience reduced performance or interruptions of your Internet service. Don’t worry, though, it’s not a problem with your hotspot and your service will continue like normal once you reenter an area with the required coverage.

You can find out how much data you have remaining with your myChevrolet, myBuick, myGMC or myCadillac Mobile App.* You can also visit your vehicle Owner Center and select Manage Wi-Fi Hotspot in the Quick Help section. Additionally, you can push the blue OnStar button and ask an Advisor.

Members who purchase an eligible Wi-Fi equipped Chevrolet, Buick or GMC vehicle can receive one month trial or 3 GB of 4G LTE data trial; Cadillac vehicle can receive three months trial or 3 GB of 4G LTE data trial * (whichever comes first). You can change the name of your hotspot and password in the Wi-Fi Hotspot menu listing of your vehicle’s mobile app. You can also visit your vehicle Owner Center website and select Manage Wi‑Fi Hotspot in the Quick Help section. Alternatively, you can press the blue OnStar button in your vehicle.
SSID is a technical term for your network name and represents “service set identifier”. SSID, network name and Wi-Fi hotspot name all refer to the same thing. The SSID is the name of the Wi-Fi Hotspot for the vehicle and the passphrase is the password associated with the hotspot
